BIOGRAPHY

Colourspace Engineering is a South London-based band founded and fronted by singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer Nick J. Webb.

Nick’s musical journey commenced with the string-laden psychedelia of The Lea Shores, expertly produced by Ben Hiller (Doves / Horrors / Blur). Andy Bell (Ride) cited them as his “new favourite band” and before long they were supporting Kasabian and touring with The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Nick then went on to perform and record with Nadine Shah, touring with Depeche Mode before writing and producing his next project, Skylark and the Scorpion alongside singer Petra Jean Phillipson. The result was Weather The Storm, a magical, etherial folk record featuring Roger Eno on piano and accordion. Signing to Skinny Dog Records founded by Peter Jobson (I Am Kloot), Nick then set the music to cinematography producing and editing an album-length music film set in Shetland. Elbow’s Guy Garvey was a fan, featuring the band on his Radio 6 Music show: ”It's a really remarkable, beautiful record…there's something so refreshingly authentic about this, it's really from the heart.”

For his latest endeavour, Nick alongside his former bandmates Jamie Smith (guitar), Nick Foot (drums) and new recruit David Temple (saxophone) has set his sights higher than ever. Joining forces at Zap Studios in Camberwell, the ‘Colourspace Factory’ (run by Nick’s twin brother and photographer Simon), the band have embarked on a celestial odyssey, writing, recording and producing an epic star-gazing psychedelic rock album with uplifting guitar riffs and synth-driven euphoria, enriched with multi-layered vocals, cascading pianos and echo-drenched saxophones.

‘Now We Rise’, the debut record by Colourspace Engineering, masterfully mixed by Andrew Jones at Depford’s 2bit Recording Studios, promises to transport listeners on a kaleidoscopic voyage. With joyous melodies that soar to heavenly heights guiding you through dreamlike soundscapes, you’ll be immersed in a sonic universe where music transcends boundaries and spirits soar among the stars.
